Swimming - 1500 m under 19 min, General Preparation Phase - 12 weeks

This Training Simulation Program is created for the athlete to be able to swim 1500 meters under 19 min. To start this 12 weeks General Preparation Plan you should be able to train about 5-6 hours a week and swim already 1500 meters around 22 min. Over those weeks you will increase your weekly mileage to 19000 yards / meters including technical drills, aerobic endurance and sprint/power work. The plan uses MultiSportSystem.com intensity scale (MIS). Every fourth week volume is significantly reduced culminating with self-testing at the end of the week to measure progress. Consider starting this plan at least 12 weeks prior Specific Preparation Phase. However General Preparation Phase can take up to 20-30 weeks.
