Running - 5 km under 18 min or 10 km under 38 min, General Preparation Phase - 12 weeks

This Training Simulation Program is created for the athlete to be able to run 5 km under 18 min or 10 km under 38 min. To start this 12 weeks General Preparation Plan you should be able to train about 5 times a week and run already 5 km around 20-22 minutes or 10 km around 43-47 min. Over those weeks you will increase your weekly mileage from 25 km to 50 km including technical drills, aerobic endurance, muscular endurance and power work. The plan uses MultiSportSystem.com intensity scale (MIS). Every fourth week volume is significantly reduced culminating with self-testing at the end of the week to measure progress. Consider starting this plan at least 18 weeks prior Specific Preparation Phase. However General Preparation Phase can take up to 20-30 weeks.
